The New Forest's recently acquired status as a National Park has given a boost to the legions of restaurants, pubs and teashops that provide sustenance for thousands of visitors each year.

Venison, feathered game and fungi are just some of its by-products, which are eagerly snapped up by kitchens across the county.

Hampshire's coastline also provides seafood aplenty, and the Test is perhaps the most famous trout river in the land. Hampshire also has one curious sideline, watercress, while the Isle of Wight is now famous for garlic.
